Dusty Pierpoint for State Representative

I am pleased to announce my decision to run for the State Legislature in the 22nd Legislative District, Position 2.
I have a proven record of working with divergent groups of people in very tough situations and coming up with solutions that work for everyone. I have been able to work effectively with government leaders, community groups, and others to find common ground on exceedingly difficult issues. Getting people to work together for the common good is in the best interest of all our citizens.
I want to operate in a respectful and bipartisan manner for the citizens of the 22nd District.
Public safety is important to me, but so are other things, including homelessness, the opioid epidemic, mental health and education. During my career in law enforcement I worked closely with schools on student and staff safety. Kids can’t learn if they don’t feel safe. I will work tirelessly to find solutions to these issues while maintaining fiscal responsibility and always looking out for the people of our community.
I have seen first hand the difficulties faced by small business and would like to work on ways to lessen the burdens on small business owners so they and their employees can thrive. The current health crisis being experienced has been devastating to our economy and the next legislative session will require us all to work together in a productive way. I know I can work in a bipartisan environment and find solutions.
I have lived in Thurston County most of my life and raised my family here. I am a husband, father and grandfather and my concerns are the same as yours. I know the issues facing this area and have ideas on how to make them better. I served this community for over 30 years before retiring from law enforcement, the last 13 years as Chief of the Lacey Police Department. I still have a passion for public service and want to continue making this a great place to live by serving as your representative in the 22nd District, Position 2.
With your support I know we can get beyond the current crisis and work together.
